Qualifications

• Must hold a current license to practice medicine by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners.
• Must hold current DEA controlled substances registration.
• Experience in leadership or supervision of physicians and mid-level providers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs complete medical histories and examinations; prescribes treatments and renders clinical judgments.
• Inspects and updates medical records; completes notes, discharge summaries and rounds.
• Refers patients to specialists for consultations and treatments.
• Provides after-hours and weekend care in rotation with colleagues.
• Directly supervises all physicians and mid-level practitioners.
• Oversees unit health services operations and compliance with policies and regulations.
