Job summary

Salt Lake Community College is seeking a Coordinator of Reentry and Student Success for the Prison Education program to support SLCC students during incarceration and after release, coordinating learning resources and guiding their transition to the main campus.

The role involves collaboration with the Office of Prison Education, Department of Corrections, and campus staff to deliver retention support, plan academic pathways, and facilitate events and services across facilities.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of direct full-time experience in Higher Education.
• Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of prison programs and educational systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to students during incarceration and after release.
• Maintain contact with PEP students and help navigate the college experience.
• Support retention efforts for Prison Education Program students.
• Assist with development of academic plans with the Assistant Director of Prison Education.
• Meet with students after release to aid transition to main campuses.
• Refer students to campus and community resources as appropriate.
• Establish a learning community for students during incarceration and post-incarceration.
• Coordinate student events and resources with SLCC staff and Department of Corrections.
