Job summary

University Medical Associates (UMA) is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to manage the end-to-end prior authorization process for medications and services in outpatient clinics. Work closely with providers and nurses to ensure timely access to therapy.

This daytime role offers no evenings or weekends, with on-site parking. Primary location is Charleston with occasional work at Mt. Pleasant, coordinating with a dedicated team to optimize reimbursement and patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 0 - 6 months work experience.
• Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the SCBOP is required and must be maintained.
• Must obtain and maintain PTCB or ExCPT certification within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Manages the end-to-end prior authorization process for medications, services and procedures.
• Ensures timely submission of accurate documentation to payers.
• Monitors authorizations and denials and collaborates with clinical teams to safeguard patient access.
