Job summary

University Medical Associates (UMA) is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to manage the end-to-end prior-authorization process for medications and services in outpatient clinics. You will ensure timely submission of documentation to payers and collaborate with providers, pharmacists, and nurses to safeguard patient access to therapy.

The role offers a daytime schedule with no evenings or weekends, on-site parking, and training with occasional work at Mt. Pleasant location.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the SC Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP) is required and must be maintained.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) certification must be obtained and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Supports outpatient pharmacy operations by managing the end-to-end prior-authorization process for medications, services, and procedures.
• Ensures timely submission of accurate documentation to payers.
• Monitors authorizations and denials and collaborates with clinical and provider teams.
• Helps optimize reimbursement while safeguarding patient access to therapy.
