Talley Eye Institute is seeking an Insurance Specialist in the Billing department to manage injection authorizations, benefits verification, and patient out-of-pocket expense counseling. The role emphasizes thorough financial checks and effective communication with patients and providers.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma with at least two years in medical office/insurance experience, strong organizational and follow-up skills, and the ability to work as part of a team in a

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years minimum experience in medical office; insurance experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, written and oral.

Mansioni

• Injection authorizations: works with retina technicians and physicians on determining which medications the patient can have vs. which ones will require a sample or prior authorization.
• Performs a thorough benefits investigation when injections are recommended for treatment.
• If needed, obtain prior authorizations for injections by contacting third party payors via fax or other TEI approved methods.
• Heavy phone contact communication.
• Patient assistance programs: enroll patients in assistance programs as needed; coordinate with RCM to prevent erroneous billing for out-of-pocket expenses.
• Additional Duties: streamline benefits processes with administration; assist front office personnel; respond to billing inquiries and balances; perform other duties as assigned.
