Job summary

Miller Ophthalmology Associate is seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Verification Specialist to join our front-office team in New Jersey. You will verify patient benefits, obtain authorizations, and enter data into the EHR to keep scheduling smooth and accurate.

Responsibilities

• Verifying patient insurance benefits, deductibles, co-pays, and out-of-pocket maximums.
• Securing prior authorizations and pre-certifications for procedures.
• Data entry into EHR systems with accurate demographic and insurance data.
• Communicating financial responsibilities to patients before appointments.

Key Responsibilities:

Verifying eligibility: Confirming patient insurance benefits, deductibles, co-pays, and out-of-pocket maximums via portals or phone.

Securing authorizations: Obtaining prior authorizations and pre-certifications for medical procedures.

Data entry: Accurately entering demographic and insurance data into Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

Patient communication: Explaining financial responsibilities to patients compassionately before their appointments.

Core Qualifications to Require/Prefer:
