The Orthopaedic Institute is seeking an Authorization Specialist to obtain insurance benefit information and authorization for patients scheduled for services at our office.

Responsibilities include contacting insurers to verify benefits, prioritizing workload to meet deadlines, and recording verification details in the EMR. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices is beneficial.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years’ experience in benefit verification or related field preferred.
• Experience with medical scheduling/billing systems is desired.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices helpful.

Responsabilidades

• Verify insurance benefits by contacting carriers via phone or online portals.
• Prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
• Document verification information in the EMR system.
• Document coverage restrictions and address them.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned.
