Job summary

Silgan Closures, a Fortune 500 leader in sustainable packaging solutions, is seeking a Printing and Coating Engineer to support Hazleton, PA manufacturing operations. You will lead process improvements, optimize equipment, and collaborate with OEMs to roll out new products while training teams on safety and operation.

The role requires a degree in engineering and experience in metal packaging or coating operations, with travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing or industrial engineering or related field.
Significant experience in can manufacturing, coil coating, printing, metal packaging, or coating operations.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to travel up to 50% to assist plants in multiple locations including Hazleton, Richmond, IN and Evansville, IN.

Responsibilities

Lead plant projects to optimize processes and equipment.
Improve quality, safety, and production efficiency.
Support coil coating, printing, curing ovens, oxidizers, and heat recovery systems.
Troubleshoot complex manufacturing equipment and identify root causes.
Lead equipment installations, audits, overhauls, and qualification activities.
Collaborate with plant teams and OEM suppliers on new products and manufacturing solutions.
Train operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel on setup, operation, and safety requirements.
Ensure safety compliance including LOTO, machine guarding, confined space, and safe work practices.
