Job summary

Elite Staffing Inc. in Lancaster, TX is seeking a Printer Operator/Production Operator to run dry offset presses, hit established production speeds, and monitor quality against signed samples.

You will oversee a small crew, troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance, load or pack a press on 8- or 12-hour PM shifts, and ensure GMP and safety policies are followed. High school diploma preferred; weekend/overtime may be required.

• Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on presses; load/pack during 8- or 12-hour shifts.

Job description

Printer Operator/Production Operator

Job Duties:

• Run the dry offset presses to the established production speeds and quality standards running at or above 105% efficiency.
• Monitor quality of print throughout production runs, ensuring that the print matches the signed sample.
• Keep scrap at or below 2.0%.
• Read and fully understand the ECS and shop orders, ensuring that everything (packaging, labels, and skid tickets) is correct on the final product that goes out the door.
• Oversee a work crew that consists of a packer and loader.
• Must be able to troubleshoot, maintain, and perform minor maintenance on presses if needed.
• Load or pack a press during an 8 or 12‑hour shift while monitoring inks and quality.
• Will need tools to properly do the job after a 90‑day probation period.
• Abides by and enforces all WNA policy and procedures.
• Works with a safety‑first, no‑compromise attitude.
• Follows all GMP policy and procedures.
• Keep press and surrounding area clean and organized with all adjustments clean of ink and no tape or temporary repairs on the press.
• Works the hours they are scheduled to work since the position of operator is extremely critical in the day‑to‑day operation of the plant; shift will fall into the 24/5 or 24/7 operations of the plant.

Requirements:

• Perform any other task that may be required and directed by supervisor.
• Weekend work and overtime should be expected.
• Must be able to manage a challenging environment.
• Some mechanical skills.
• Printing experience is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

• To be an active learner and listener with some troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
• Needs to have some prior light mechanical ability; printing operator experience is a big plus.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
