Business Communication Solutions is seeking a production printer operator to manage printing processes, route files for maximum capacity, and verify job integrity using our wiki.
You will monitor quality, perform basic maintenance, complete work orders for billing, and help with inventory, scheduling, and housekeeping to keep the production area efficient.
Operate all printers and systems that support production. Demonstrate an understanding of printer capabilities and priority schedules by routing print files to maximize print capacities. Ensure that correct materials are being used via the Wiki and that the integrity of all jobs is verified. Monitor quality throughout production of a job. Demonstrate an understanding of machine trouble shooting by performing operator adjustments. Print checks and perform required stock reconciliation. Perform basic operator maintenance on all printers. Participate in other production activities as needed such as hand inserting, etc. Complete work orders completely and accurately to ensure accurate billing. Participate in other record keeping and tracking as required. Recommend process improvements that support customer and company interests. Provide input to performance evaluations, objectives and development. Ensure that work area and equipment are kept clean. Ensure that production materials are put away upon completion of job. Participate in production area and facility housekeeping on a regular basis. Examine job orders to determine quantities to be printed, stock specifications, colors, or special printing instructions. Monitor automated press operation systems and respond to fault, error, or alert messages. Verify that paper and ink meet the specifications for a given job. Clean ink fountains, plates, or printing unit cylinders when press runs are completed. Input production job settings into workstation terminals that control automated printing systems. Monitor inventory levels on a regular basis, ordering or requesting additional supplies, as necessary. Monitor environmental factors, such as humidity and temperature, that may impact equipment performance and make necessary adjustments. Download or scan files to be printed, using printing production software. Control workflow scheduling or job tracking, using computer database software.
