Job summary

Riger Marketing is seeking an experienced production designer to manage print workflows and coordinate with art directors and designers. You will prep files in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop or Acrobat for printing and forward them to our vendor network.

The role involves handling purchasing, scheduling and approvals for all printing jobs, presenting proofs for approval, and reconciling invoices. A strong eye for detail and familiarity with printer terminology are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher.
• At least 5 years experience in a design and/or print production role.
• Familiarity with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop or Acrobat.
• Attention to detail.
• Knowledge of printer terminology, workflow, etc.
• Print shop/agency experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with Riger's art director, graphic designers, and account executives, as directed by agency management.
• Uses InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop or Acrobat to prep a file for printing and/or forwards print-ready design files to a network of printing vendor partners.
• Manages purchasing, scheduling, tracking and approval process for all printing jobs.
• Sends quote requests to multiple vendors to ensure best value, pricing, etc.
• Before a job begins, prepares purchase orders with details of the job (quantity, stock, delivery info, etc.).
• Follows through on receipt of files, any missing items, etc.
• Presents proofs to and gains approval from art director and/or graphic designers.
• After a job ends, approves matching printing bills for bookkeeper.
• Manages the Art Department's "supply closet" and virtual archives, updating as needed.
