Job summary

Persistent Systems is seeking a Principal Wireless Communication Systems Design Engineer to join our team at the NYC headquarters. You will work with architecture, RF, FPGA, Software and DSP teams on SDR design, performance evaluation and optimization.

You will lead development of CFR and DPD, define reference algorithms, and validate RF/ASIC systems while interfacing across multiple engineering groups to ensure optimal baseband performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or related field
• 10 years’ experience as Electronics Engineer, RF Engineer, or related field
• 120 months of experience in wireless communication systems design, modeling, analysis and troubleshooting
• 120 months of experience in RF transceiver design including system architecture and system specifications
• 120 months of experience in RF transmitter and receiver component’s level design including mixer, synthesizer, LNA, PA and antenna
• 60 months of experience in RX AGC operation and optimization
• 60 months of experience in improving efficiency and linearity of high power GaN amplifiers using CFR and DPD
• 120 months of experience in 802.11 wireless system
• 60 months of experience in FPGA based SDR design with solid knowledge of Wireless PHY
• 96 months of experience in leading RF radio development and risk assessments
• 120 months of experience in using RF lab equipment (VNA, VSG, VSA)
• 120 months of experience in using CST, AWR, and MATLAB

Responsibilities

• Direct responsibility for development of Crest Factor Reduction and Digital Predistortion
• Provide specifications and reference algorithms for RF, SW, and DSP implementations
• Conduct SDR/RF ASIC systems validation and analysis
• Propose design and process changes for RF RX jamming and multi-radio coexistence trade-offs
• Interface with internal SW/FPGA/DSP group to relay system performance results
• Collaborate to identify and solve performance issues within RF and FPGA/DSP sub-systems
• Responsible for providing RF transceiver calibration algorithm and defining testing methods
• Measure, optimize and ensure baseband application is performing optimally
