Job summary

HistoSonics, Inc. is seeking a Principal Ultrasound Engineer to own diagnostic ultrasound image quality across histotripsy platforms. You will develop B-mode image optimization and advanced imaging modes while supporting the Abdominal Edison System with imaging SME input.

The role is hands-on, prototyping and validating imaging algorithms, and setting technical direction for external partners. Report to the Associate VP of Research and Advanced Development with independence to drive two programs.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing ultrasound image processing algorithms with quantitative assessment.
• Strong understanding of the full ultrasound signal chain from transmit to display.
• Experience taking algorithms from prototype to production quality.
• Experience with RF/IQ data, phantoms, and image quality testing methods.
• Ability to direct external OEM development partners and manage deliverables.
• Regulatory experience in medical devices with design controls and submissions.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and validate B-mode image optimization algorithms.
• Define and accept advanced imaging modes including color/power Doppler.
• Serve as imaging SME during histotripsy treatment for targeting and monitoring.
• Establish objective image quality metrics and acceptance criteria.
• Guide external OEMs on transducer, beamforming, and front-end requirements.
• Investigate imaging artifacts from concurrent therapy delivery.
• Support regulatory strategy with verification protocols and reports.
• Provide hands-on imaging support in lab, preclinical, and clinical activities.
