Job summary

Target is seeking a Principal Engineer, Threat Detection Operations, to lead the technical strategy for detection engineering, platforms, services, integrations, and automations. You will guide design, development, testing, deployment, and operationalization across portfolios, drive adoption, and ensure detections are actionable and durable.

You will translate threat intelligence into scalable detection solutions, mentor engineers, and partner with incident responders and threat intelligence

Qualifications

• Advanced Python programming and software engineering skills.
• Experience with CI/CD, detection-as-code, and DevSecOps practices.
• Strong knowledge of SIEM and security analytics platforms.
• Ability to translate threat intelligence into durable detection capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Set technical vision and roadmap for detection engineering.
• Architect scalable detection capabilities across enterprise and cloud environments.
• Lead design, development, testing, deployment, and operation of detections.
• Provide hands-on leadership for complex detection and visibility challenges.
