Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation in Dayton, OH is seeking a Principal Test Engineer to lead testing initiatives for mission equipment such as communication, computing, navigation, and surveillance systems. You will mentor test engineers and act as SME for test events and documentation peer reviews.

This role emphasizes safety-focused V&V, rigorous documentation, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure design maturity and certification readiness. A Top Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or related field.
• 14+ years of experience in test engineering or a related role.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning for testing initiatives and projects.
• Develop and implement innovative testing methodologies and processes.
• Mentor test engineering teams and guide critical projects.
• Oversee the execution of the most critical and complex testing projects.
• Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive testing excellence.
• Ensure that the sequence of test events accounts for safety risk management, including identifying potential risks and mitigations.
