Job summary

ACI Worldwide seeks a Principal Software Engineer in Test to embed quality across feature delivery. You will partner with product, architecture, and engineering to define acceptance criteria, coach teams to own tests, and reduce flaky fixtures.

This role emphasizes shared responsibility for quality and fast feedback within a hybrid work environment. You will drive test patterns for E2E, integration, and API tests, establish maintainable page object models, and champion trunk-based development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years professional software engineering with focus on test automation and quality engineering.
• Experience influencing testing practices across teams rather than owning a centralized suite.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement a quality strategy with clear acceptance criteria.
• Coach teams to build deterministic, fast test suites.
• Establish test patterns for E2E, integration, API, and unit tests.
• Embed testing into CI/CD with trunk-based development.
• Mentor engineers in TDD and four-key metrics (DORA).
• Lead cross-team efforts to close coverage gaps.
