The role leads organization-wide initiatives including performance and goal setting, succession planning, development plans, talent reviews, and high-potential programs, while coaching executives and partnering with leaders to drive strategic workforce outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge of talent and organizational development systems and tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and talent management software.
  • Experience designing and leading organization-wide talent initiatives (performance, succession, development plans).
  • Extensive experience with data analysis and reporting.
  • Certifications: SPHR, SHRM-SCP, TMP, TMCP, or OD.
  • Strong project management skills with multi-project handling.

Job description

  • The Principal Talent & Development Specialist is responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously evolving talent and organizational development processes and programs
  • This role ensures alignment with Sierra Space culture and talent priorities, leading organizational-wide initiatives such as performance and goal setting, succession planning, development plans, talent reviews, and critical role/high potential programs
  • The specialist will engage with executive-level stakeholders, utilize a data-driven approach, and manage complex projects to enhance the organization’s talent and development strategies
  • This role involves designing, delivering, and continuously evolving talent and organizational development processes and programs to align with Sierra Space’s culture and talent priorities
  • It includes leading organization-wide initiatives such as performance and goal setting, succession planning, development plans, talent reviews, critical role/high potential programs, coaching and feedback, and talent assessments
  • The role requires identifying and influencing program planning and strategies to meet stakeholder and business needs while using a consultative approach to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, often in collaboration with executive-level stakeholders
  • Additionally, this role involves partnering with stakeholders to determine execution strategies, including processes, tools, and vendor partnerships, while leveraging a data-driven approach to anticipate and address talent trends
  • A strong ability to plan and manage projects is essential, particularly for designing and implementing programs in complex environments with a focus on participant experience
  • Responsibilities also include developing and executing communication and change management strategies for talent initiatives, collaborating with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to support workforce planning and strengthen leadership and talent pipelines, and continuously monitoring and improving program effectiveness
  • Staying current with industry trends, mentoring junior team members, managing budgets, facilitating leadership development workshops, and maintaining a repository of resources and best practices are also key aspects of this role
  • Furthermore, the role involves integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles into talent programs, as well as collaborating with external consultants and vendors to enhance program offerings and effectiveness
