Job Description: Principal Systems Integration Engineer

SAIC is seeking an experienced Principal Systems Integration Engineer to support the Space Development Agency (SDA) Tranche 3 Program Integration (T3PI) program.

As the Principal Systems Integration Engineer, you will support the Systems Engineering and Integration of the Tranche 3 constellation, which includes hundreds of satellites accomplishing multiple mission areas including missile warning, tracking and defense, and tactical communications to warfighters. You will collaborate with SDA, end users, space vehicle contractors, and ground segment contractors to ensure successful architecture, requirements, implementation, integration, and testing.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Working as a key part of the overall Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) group that is central to the T3PI team.
• Translating system requirements into system architectures that integrate space, ground, and end user systems to meet mission needs, considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Developing interface control documents and system models defining interfaces across segments.
• Ensuring segment-level specifications align with system-level requirements.
• Developing system threads to evaluate and document functional behaviors between space, ground, and end user elements.
• Performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, and trade studies.
• Collaborating with space vehicle and ground segment contractors to ensure design compliance and proper system interfaces.
• Supporting planning and execution of system-level tests and evaluating segment-level test plans.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 9 years of relevant experience OR Master’s Degree with 7 years of relevant experience in Engineering or Engineering Sciences; additional experience may substitute for a degree.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience developing or maintaining high-reliability systems for national security, especially space and/or ground systems or space-to-ground integration.
• Proficiency in systems engineering involving complex multi-element systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Desired Education and Experience:

• Experience with fast-paced space development programs.
• Proficiency with MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler and/or DOORS.
• Experience with space-based tactical communications, missile warning, tracking, defense, or space target custody.
• Experience with diverse system types, including custom HW/SW, COTS/GOTS HW/SW, and specialty engineering.
• Experience with Agile methodologies in program management or software development.
• Experience developing Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
• Top Secret clearance with an updated SSBI is a plus.

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. This estimate reflects typical salaries based on experience and other factors. SAIC accepts applications continuously with no fixed deadline.
