The Impact of a Principal Platform Engineer, Data Architect:

This role involves designing, implementing, and managing the data platform and architecture, focusing on scalability, security, and efficiency. Collaboration across teams to align data strategies with business objectives is essential.

What You'll Do:

1. Lead design and development of new architecture and upgrades for the Coupa Application Platform.
2. Develop expertise in the entire Coupa suite to improve application and data frameworks.
3. Follow iterative development processes to deliver value and drive long-term technical vision.
4. Promote architecture standards and patterns, advocating their correct usage and communicating effectively.
5. Document solutions using existing standards, creating new templates as needed, and presenting to review bodies.
6. Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams on feature design and defect analysis.
7. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
8. Engage with cross-organizational teams to ensure successful software development, deployment, and support.

What You Will Bring:

1. Master’s degree in relevant fields or equivalent experience.
2. 5+ years in large IT system implementation and complex projects.
3. Experience developing business applications or frameworks.
4. 3+ years defining high-level designs for business domains.
5. Experience interpreting business processes and current technology solutions.
6. Knowledge of middleware and application integration products.
7. Proficiency in enterprise architecture and SDLC methodologies.
8. Experience with third-party developer frameworks, multi-tenant systems, containers, microservices, message queues, and database optimization.

The estimated salary ranges vary by location, with the base salary starting from approximately $184,025 in Colorado to $252,500 in the Bay Area. Final salary will depend on skills, experience, and location.
