Job summary

Prattwhitney in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer – Section Responsible Systems Engineer to lead the update of system and subsystem requirements and serve as the technical lead for verification and validation on a major defense program. The role requires mentoring team members and coordinating with IPT leadership onsite at the SETC facility in Tucson.

The candidate will collaborate with Systems and Hardware teams, Chief Engineer, and IPT leadership; oversee verification planning

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• Minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with at least one of the following: systems software, systems firmware, systems hardware, systems requirements, systems integration, or systems test.
• Experience in test planning, verification of system requirements, and/or system qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead effort to update and maintain system and subsystem level requirements specifications.
• Serve as the systems technical lead for verification and validation efforts during Verification and Qualification testing.
• Collaborate with Systems and Hardware IPTLs, Chief Engineer, and other stakeholders on program technical tasks.
• Lead Systems Verification Reviews with the Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, and Integrated Product Team Leadership.
• Be the knowledgeable and go‑to Systems Engineer for the program.
• Onboard, mentor, and guide new team members using core Systems Engineering skills.
