Job summary

RTX in Portsmouth, RI is seeking an experienced Principal Systems Engineer focused on ocean engineering within SE&TC Surface Radars & Sensors Center. The role covers underwater acoustics, sensor systems, and naval integration, with leadership responsibilities and limited travel.

The position requires a DoD Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, and an onsite work arrangement in Portsmouth. The candidate will contribute to system development, testing, and documentation across multiple programs.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with underwater acoustics analysis, sensor systems, or naval systems.
• Experience with system integration and testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform system performance evaluations and in-depth analysis for new functionality.
• Contribute to development of procedures, processes, and standards.
• Create/modify documentation for testing reviews (TRR/CTS/TDR) and communicate results to leadership.
• Demonstrate the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 25% to support customer events.
