EPE is searching for a Principal Power System Engineer to join our growing Transmission Planning Utilities Team. In this role you will work closely with senior leadership to support our growth strategy and provide subject matter expertise. Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field (a Master's or PhD degree is preferred)
8 to 10 years of experience in the electric energy industry, generator modelling, transmission planning and interconnection studies is preferred
Solid background in power flow, optimal power flow, transient stability
In-depth knowledge of at least one but preferably several of the following software packages: PSSE, TARA, PSLF, ASPEN, DSATools, PSCAD
Knowledge of SPP and MISO footprints
Proven ability to evaluate new utility tariffs and study methodologies
Automation experience (Python, C#, SQL) would be looked upon favorably
Competency in analytical problem-solving, strong communication, and technology expertise

Location: This position is open to REmote US or Canada
Travel: Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less)
