Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Fulton, MD, is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer focused on systems modeling and analysis for challenging software development projects, including real-time command and control, and advanced data fusion.

You will lead design and integration across teams, work with MATLAB-like modeling, AI/ML and visualization tools, and engage with customers. Travel to client sites is required; U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance are prerequisites.

In this position, you will serve as a principal systems engineer with a focus on systems modeling and analysis on challenging software development projects. You will be engaged with exciting and innovative advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning and Visualization technologies.

This position is located in Fulton, MD and does require some travel to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Experience as a Systems Analyst/System Engineer in the Aerospace and Defense industry
• Working knowledge of developing system models and simulations, and developing complex algorithmic solutions in a tool such as MATLAB
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

Qualifications We Prefer

• M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or other Engineering related discipline
• Experience with any of these systems: Command and Control (C2), Surveillance/Radars, Air Traffic Control, Mission Planning, Missile Systems or Combat/Fire Control systems.
• Experience with any of the following: radar sensor integration, track filtering and track management techniques and algorithms, cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies.

The salary range for this role is 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
