Job summary

V2X in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join our Engineering team supporting development and integration of advanced systems including avionics, sensors, radar, and mission computers for DoD customers. The candidate will lead multi-disciplinary teams and represent the company to the customer and leadership, driving lifecycle activities from concept to validation.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
• Minimum 12 years of related engineering experience.
• Experience providing leadership, technical direction, and guidance to multi-discipline teams.
• Ability to own the engineering scope within the program and drive cross‑functional tasks.
• Experience leading the development, integration and test of military avionics or similar complex systems.
• Experience leading requirements development, hardware/software integration and verification.
• Experience with development, integration and test on air/sea/ground platforms.
• Experience with embedded hardware/software subsystems design, integration, and production transition.
• Experience creating technical baselines (requirements/architecture) and engineering changes.
• Experience leading Trades Studies / AoA, risk analysis and mitigation.
• Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders; leading design reviews.
• Project management including cost, schedule, supplier management, risk and opportunities.
• Understanding of the System Engineering Lifecycle and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chief Engineer and Program Manager in all aspects of product area execution and customer interface.
• Provide technical and programmatic guidance throughout the lifecycle to a multi-domain development team.
• Drive issue resolution and lead multidisciplinary design reviews; ensure the program meets technical requirements.
