Job description

Position Overview:

Red Arch Solutions is seeking a Principal System Administrator to join our PRIME contract in Ft. Meade, MD. This position supports the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems, managing infrastructure and related processes. Responsibilities include monitoring and resolving issues across client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, and providing Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support for problem diagnosis and resolution. The role also involves managing system escalations, providing status updates to agency management, and ensuring timely communication with internal customers. Additionally, the position includes configuring and maintaining UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems, improving system performance, and ensuring overall network integrity.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
  • Assist users in accessing and using IT systems.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem diagnosis and resolution.
  • Perform account management, e.g., establishing, activating, modifying, disabling, and removing accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with system security controls through configuration management, implementation, and sustainment.
  • Perform periodic vulnerability scans of systems.
  • Support day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Implement IAVA security patches and record patch status.
  • Support escalation processes and communicate status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization; perform capacity analysis and planning.
  • Provide in-depth troubleshooting of IT systems.
  • Analyze and provide feedback for escalated tickets.
  • Support dispatch system and hardware problems, remaining involved in resolution.
  • Configure and manage UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems, troubleshoot, and improve reliability and performance.
  • Coordinate with ISSO and ISO regarding system changes and security milestones.
  • Support compliance with ICAM policies and complete POA&M milestones.
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 escalation support.
  • Support design of systems, mission architecture, and hardware.
  • Analyze and resolve complex hardware, application, and software integration problems.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Twenty (20) years' experience as a SA in similar programs.
  • DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level III and CE certifications.
  • Eight (8) years of experience with Service Management (ITSM).
  • ITIL 4 certification.
  • Experience with Active Directory, SCCM, DNS, Group Policy, and related technologies if assigned to Directory Services TTOs.
  • Understanding of mission islands, Trusted Thin Client, and VDI concepts if assigned to Desktop & Enclave Services TTOs.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
