Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Commerce, CA seeks a Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist to own onsite procurement and material strategy. You will liaise with program management, operations, quality and engineering to meet productivity and schedule goals, and drive supplier performance across the site.

The role requires a BS with 5 years’ supply chain or logistics experience (9 years in lieu of degree) and the ability to obtain a security clearance; local onsite work is required with no telecommuting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 5 years of supply chain, project management, or logistics experience.
• Solid understanding of supply chain processes and ERP workflows.
• Experience with manufacturing and purchasing workflows.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Represent supply chain onsite for coordinating procurement and subcontractor needs.
• Define and execute end-to-end material strategy, including assessment of supply resources and prioritization of demand requirements.
• Review requirements for non-standard parts, analyze lead times, and identify/drive critical-path procurements.
• Represent supply chain in IPT reviews and site status meetings, communicating delivery issues and system understanding.
• Collaborate with Program, Operations, Quality and Engineering to meet internal customer needs and NG policies.
• Collaborate with buyers and supplier performance to resolve systemic issues requiring site coordination.

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector’s Mission Enabling Products Business Unit invites you to bring your pioneering spirit to our inclusive team. As a Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist, you'll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one.
The Principal Supply Chain Planning Analyst is responsible for representing Supply Chain within an IPT with Program Management, Operations, Quality and Engineering for the Commerce, CA facility within the Mission Enabling Products Business Unit in the Payload and Ground Division within the Space Systems sector.
This position is based onsite in Commerce, CA. This is not a telecommuting position. No relocation will be provided
Candidate will serve as liaison between supply chain and program management, planning, quality, engineering, and operations. Review status of projects, manages schedules, and prepares status reports. Assess supply chain related Program issues and in conjunction with purchasing, develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Will be fully engaged with the Global Supply Chain (GSC) team and other cross-functional teams to develop and implement integrated system tools and processes within the Business Unit (BU).

Primary Responsibilities

• Works under general supervision to represent supply chain onsite for coordinating and communicating procurement and subcontractor supplier needs and activity
• Define and execute end-to-end material strategy, including assessment of supply resources and prioritization of demand requirements
• Review requirements for non-standard parts, analyze lead times, and identify/drive critical-path procurements
• Represent supply chain in internal daily and escalation meetings IPT reviews on programs and site status, as pertaining to supply chain, including execution issues and any other items that may impact ability to deliver. Understanding deliverables, due dates and basic technical knowledge of the assigned systems.
• Collaborates with internal functions, including Program, Operations, Quality and Engineering to ensure requirements are met in accordance with internal customer needs and to NG policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with buyers, supplier performance and supplier quality to understand systemic or major issues at suppliers that require coordination with site functions
  

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience in supply chain, business/project management, or logistics. Or in lieu of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience in supply chain, business/project management, or logistics
• Solid understanding of supply chain processes and procedures
• Experience with general manufacturing and purchasing workflows
• High level of proficiency in MS Office suite and ERP systems/tools
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Machining and Welding Industry, supporting Aerospace applications
• CostPoint (Deltek) and/or SAP software programs experience
• Experience supporting production centers in the Aerospace and/or Defense industry
• Experience in Federal and Defense contracting requirements including ITAR, FAR and DFARS
  

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
