The Operations and Supply Chain organization has an opportunity for a talented professional to join our team in a critical Principal Supplier Engineering remote role within our Radio Frequency (RF) commodity team as a Principal Supplier Engineer. You will be involved in all aspects of planning and executing the production of our wide range of weapon systems, from tactical missiles to strategic defense products. You will provide technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve supplier performance. You will be involved in all phases of product life cycles, beginning with proposal development, new product development, advanced manufacturing initiatives and continuing through production implementation.

You will ensure technical data packages are complete and accurate and that the supplier technical performance meets the objectives of quality, cost and schedule. You will drive Raytheon design requirements to improve manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers. You will initiate continuous and measurable design and process improvement of supplier hardware for affordability.

Within the RF group, you will support the following commodities: RF and Microwave hybrid major assemblies and components, CCA’s, Filters, Waveguides, Amplifiers, Receivers, Transmitters, Transceivers, etc. (Experience in these specific commodities is desired, but not required.)

What You Will Do:

  • Communicate and translate technical data packages to suppliers
  • Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
  • Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities
  • Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders
  • Lead and conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk
  • Lead evaluations of supplier requests for product and process changes
  • Manage product non-conformances; facilitate root cause investigation and corrective action
  • Support travel as needed. Minimum 25%

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8 years’ relevant experience such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, system engineering, manufacturing & quality systems, technical supplier management.
  • Experience in a cross-functional business involving multiple stakeholders (i.e. buyers, engineers, suppliers, program managers, and/or shop floor leaders, etc.)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:

  • Master’s Degree in the following Majors: Business Administration, Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Process/Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science
  • Existing Secret Clearance
  • Commodity experience related to RF & Microwave hybrid major assemblies and components, CCA’s, Filters, Waveguides, Amplifiers, Receivers, Transmitters, Transceivers, etc.
  • Experience with design and development of products that fall within the electrical or mechanical engineering discipline
  • Experience performing supplier assessments

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
