Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) seeks a Principal Small UAS (sUAS) Mechanical Engineer for the Hurlburt Field, Florida program. The role requires U.S.

citizenship and a TS/SCI clearance. You will provide mechanical engineering expertise on a multidisciplinary team, applying MIL-HDBK-516 criteria and airworthiness knowledge to subsystem design, integration, and verification. Expect up to 15% travel, with CONUS surge periods.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical or aeronautical engineering experience.
• US citizenship with active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SAP/SCI eligibility.
• Experience with airworthiness criteria and system integration.

Responsibilities

• Participate in engineering integration meetings and design reviews.
• Lead on-aircraft integration and test activities.
• Coordinate with government and industry teams for mission capability development.
• Develop and deliver technical briefings to senior stakeholders.
• Manage system requirements and ensure compatibility with defined architectures.
• Support investigations and root-cause analysis for issues across disciplines.
• Guide verification, validation, and testing of subsystems and full systems.
