Job summary

Barrick is seeking a Principal/Regional Structural Geologist to guide exploration teams with expert structural geology support, field validation, and high-quality mapping from 2D to 4D models. The role focuses on understanding structural controls on gold and copper systems across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Geology or equivalent; postgraduate specialization preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years in applied structural geology within mineral exploration; gold/copper experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Carlin-type, epithermal, porphyry, orogenic, and intrusion-related systems preferred.
• Experience validating, integrating, interpreting, and modelling large multi-disciplinary datasets.
• Proficiency in structural geology analysis tools and software (stereonet, kinematic analysis, fault/strain).
• Experience with 3D geological modelling and GIS platforms (Leapfrog, ArcPro).
• Strong written and spoken English; able to communicate complex concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform regional to local structural mapping and interpret datasets to identify controls on mineralization.
• Ensure high-quality structural data collection and access to critical datasets for exploration planning.
• Validate external and legacy datasets per regional standards before interpretation.
• Conduct advanced structural modelling to support exploration and brownfield projects.
• Lead structural interpretation of geophysical datasets and integrate multi-method data into 2D-4D models.
• Provide technical guidance with site visits and knowledge transfer to exploration teams.
• Adopt new methods and technologies to improve exploration effectiveness.
• Incorporate downhole core data to constrain geometry and targeting vectors.
• Uphold safety and alignment with Barrick values in all activities.
