Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead complex analyses and guide repair design for metallic and composite aerospace structures. You will support MRB and FAA approvals, while promoting continuous improvement in producibility, quality, and cost reduction.

As part of the Advanced Structures team, you will collaborate with Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering to drive design integrity and efficiency across product lines, delivering robust, safe aerospace

Qualifications

Requires degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years.
Strong background in static stress analysis and fatigue analysis.
Experience with stress analysis of metallic and advanced composite structures.
Experience using Patran or comparable finite element analysis tools.
Proven ability to manage priorities and work across functions.

Responsibilities

Perform complex structural analyses for aerospace components including static, fatigue and fracture analysis.
Define and document repair designs for metallic and composite structures.
Collaborate with MRB to develop standard repair instructions and support FAA approvals.
Lead or contribute as technical lead on assigned projects.
Identify opportunities to improve producibility and reduce cost across product lines.
