Job description

Principal Strategist and Account Solution Lead

Job Summary

The Account Solution Lead is Elevate Digitals senior executive-facing strategist and enterprise solutions architect, dedicated to a program with a large enterprise client in the healthcare industry. This leader owns the strategic product and technology direction of the client partnership, defining the forward-looking direction for the clients healthcare technology platform and carrying it credibly with client executive leadership. The role is strategic advisory, not day-to-day delivery: it sets direction upstream and hands qualified opportunities to Portfolio Delivery for scoping and to the Client Partner for commercial execution. It requires deep healthcare industry expertise and the architectural judgment to challenge and validate solution direction proposed by both Elevate and the client architects.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Executive liaison: serve as a peer-level strategic counterpart to the client's C-level and VP-level product and technology executives, including the emerging strategic leads on the client side. Represent Elevate in executive forums, steering committees, and strategy sessions.
  • Own strategic product direction: hold accountable ownership of the product and technology strategy for the client partnership, ensuring one coherent direction rather than a collection of workstream-level decisions.
  • Solution direction: keep the program's workstreams coherent and aligned to the strategic vision. Escalate technical standards questions to the lead architects.
  • Account leadership team: operate as one of the four seats of the account leadership model, alongside the Executive Sponsor, the Client Partner, and the Portfolio Delivery Lead, with a written charter and explicit ownership.
  • Lead through influence: align solution and strategy decisions across a large, matrixed Elevate and client team through influence and credibility rather than positional authority. When this seat and a delivery lead disagree on solution direction, the decision escalates jointly to the Portfolio Delivery Lead and the Senior Director, Strategy & Enterprise Architecture.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Product and Technology Direction

  • Own and evolve the strategic roadmap for the client's healthcare technology platform and the surrounding digital ecosystem, connecting business objectives, product opportunities, technology capabilities, and architectural strategy into one cohesive direction.
  • Facilitate and lead strategic conversations with the client's product and technology leadership as their consistent, trusted counterpart.
  • Connect individual initiatives to the broader enterprise platform vision so the portfolio reads as one strategy, not a collection of projects.
  • Anticipate where healthcare technology is moving (AI in clinical and operational workflows, data platforms, interoperability, regulatory direction) and position the client ahead of it.

Executive Engagement

  • Build and hold executive relationships across the client's business units, proactively engaging business unit leaders to understand business challenges and identify where technology and digital products create value.
  • Prepare and lead executive-level strategy reviews, roadmap sessions, and co-innovation discussions.
  • Support the Executive Sponsor and Client Partner in executive escalations where product or solution strategy is required.
  • Contribute the strategy and solution voice to the quarterly business review alongside the Client Partner and Portfolio Delivery Lead.

Solution Direction and Validation

  • Review solution direction across active workstreams against the enterprise platform vision: capabilities, dependencies, integration patterns, data architecture, and the architectural implications of strategic choices.
  • Challenge and validate solution direction across active workstreams; major solution direction is reviewed by this seat before it ships, and unresolved disagreements escalate as described under Lead through influence.
  • Set architectural guardrails for governed AI in regulated healthcare environments, including human-in-the-loop design, data readiness, and ownership of outcomes.
  • Provide the technical and product depth that Portfolio Delivery should not be expected to carry as primary expert.

Opportunity Development

  • Translate emerging opportunities into viable engagement strategies framed around a single named Elevate asset per opportunity.
  • Advance opportunities through the qualification checklist, including a named client-side adoption owner, before transitioning to Portfolio Delivery for detailed scoping, estimation, and sequencing.
  • Partner with the Client Partner on commercial construction: this seat frames, the Client Partner closes.
  • Bring Elevate service line capabilities and platform proof points into the account matched to real client triggers, and feed client needs we do not yet offer back to service line owners.
  • A living strategic product and technology roadmap for the client, co-owned with client executive leadership and reviewed quarterly.
  • A steady flow of well-defined, qualified opportunities, each documenting the entry offer, economic buyer, business trigger, and adoption owner.
  • Documented solution direction reviews on every major workstream each quarter, with architecture decisions recorded and socialized.
  • Executive engagement cadence: recurring strategic sessions with the client's product and technology leadership, established within the first ninety days.
  • Quarterly contribution to the account QBR: whitespace analysis, healthcare technology trends relevant to the client, and recommended expansion plays.

Required Competencies and Skills

  • Healthcare Depth: deep, demonstrated healthcare industry expertise: provider, medical device, or healthcare technology environments, with working fluency in regulated contexts (HIPAA, FDA-regulated software, quality systems) and healthcare data and interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR).
  • Enterprise Solutions Architecture: genuine enterprise architect capability, not architecture-adjacent: cloud platform architecture, integration and API strategy, data platforms, and the ability to defend architectural decisions to a CTO.
  • Executive Presence: credible, composed, and additive in the room with C-level and VP-level executives; able to facilitate ambiguous strategic conversations and leave the client wanting more time, not less.
  • Product Strategy Depth: enterprise-level product management or product ownership experience, including product strategy, roadmapping, and discovery.
  • Matrix Navigation: experience working across highly matrixed or siloed business units and connecting individual initiatives to a broader enterprise strategy.
  • Commercial Mindset: recognizes where a client need can become a meaningful consulting, product, or delivery opportunity, and frames it so commercial and delivery functions can act.
  • AI Fluency: conversant in applied AI strategy for regulated enterprises: governance, adoption, model and platform neutrality, and human judgment in the loop.

Experience and Education

  • Twelve (12+) or more years across enterprise architecture, product strategy, or technology leadership, with substantial healthcare industry tenure.
  • Five (5+) or more years in client-facing consulting or advisory roles serving VP-level and

C-level stakeholders on large enterprise engagements.

  • Track record owning technology or product strategy for a major enterprise program, platform, or portfolio, ideally in healthcare or another regulated industry.
  • Hands-on architecture leadership on at least one major cloud platform; TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification and cloud architect certifications preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field, or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.

Values Alignment

  • Client Focused: keeps the client's business outcomes at the center of every roadmap and solution recommendation, and measures success by outcomes, not activity.
  • Lead with Integrity: gives client leaders and Elevate leadership honest assessments, surfaces risk and hard trade-offs early, and stands behind the recommendation.
  • Inspire Excellence: holds a high bar for the rigor, clarity, and feasibility of solution direction, and applies AI-native ways of working to the strategy itself.
  • Mutual Respect: challenges ideas, not people, and builds trust with the chief architects, delivery leads, and the client's siloed business unit leaders.
  • Build Together: shares the roadmap and patterns across the account team and practice, and frames opportunities so the Client Partner and Portfolio Delivery can win together.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Travel Required

Occasional travel required for client executive sessions, steering committees, QBRs, and business unit workshops.
