Position Overview

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is searching for a Principal or Sr Principal Software Engineer to join the Global C2 Solutions Business Unit in support of our programs, in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities

The selected candidates’ tasks include:

1. Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems containing logical and mathematical solutions.
2. Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with systems engineers and hardware engineers in planning, design, and development.
3. Determine computer user needs; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems related to program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
4. Prepare operating instructions and ensure software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications

This position can be filled as a level 2 or level 3.

• Principal Software Engineer: 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's in STEM, 3 years with Masters, or 0 Years with PhD
• Sr Principal Software Engineer: 8 Years with Bachelors in STEM; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
• Active Secret Security Clearance
• Experience with Cesium JS
• Experience with React
• Experience with at least one of these languages: JavaScript, Python, C++, Java, Ada
• Experience with at least one of these technologies: Visual Studio Code Extensions, AWS, Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, OpenAPI, gRPC, protobuf

Salary Range

Range 1: $105,400.00 - $158,000.00

Range 2: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00

The above salary ranges are general guidelines; actual offers depend on factors such as experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, and long-term incentives.
