Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is searching for a Principal or a Sr Principal Software Engineer to join the Global C2 Solutions Business Unit in support of our programs, in Huntsville, AL.

The selected candidates’ task encompasses the following: Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with systems engineers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, and development. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications: This position can either be filled as a level 2 or a level 3.

• Principal Software Engineer: 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's in STEM, 3 years with Masters, or 0 Years with PhD
• Sr Principal Software Engineer: 8 Years with Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM); 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
• Active Secret Security Clearance
• Experience with Cesium JS
• Experience with React
• Experience with at least one of these languages: JavaScript, Python, C++, Java, Ada
• Experience with at least one of these technologies: Visual Studio Code Extensions, AWS, Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, OpenAPI, gRPC, protobuf
  
  

Salary Range: $105,400.00 - $158,000.00Salary Range 2: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
