We seek a Senior/Principal Backend Software Engineer with leadership experience. You will work closely with the product owner, area architect, and your team members to clarify business needs and technical requirements, and define the best support strategies.

As our Senior/Principal Backend Software Engineer:

1. Work in a challenging Agile environment with your team and Product Owner, collaborating with other teams.
2. Lead technical and architectural discussions and decisions within your team.
3. Develop and continuously deliver applications for one of Europe's most successful pet e-commerce platforms.
4. Participate in the entire software development lifecycle: discovery, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
5. Learn and grow your skills daily, utilizing technologies such as AWS, Microservices, Docker, and more.

Project overview: In collaboration with other teams, introduce new features and process improvements to enhance the experience for over 11 million customers.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain high standards of technical excellence, emphasizing best practices and industry trends.
• Actively contribute to coding, features, and issue resolution.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership for the integration platform.
• Work with stakeholders and enterprise architects to develop the roadmap.
• Manage the backlog, run scrums, and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Support your team as an agile coach and driver of the software delivery process.
• Participate in recruitment and team retention efforts.
• Monitor and optimize costs related to AWS, licenses, etc.

Minimum qualifications:

• Excellent English communication skills.
• Approximately 10 years of experience in JVM-based software development.
• Experience with Apache Camel, Microservices, AWS, Lambda, Kibana, Elastic, etc.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and hands-on design and development experience.
• Proven technical leadership.
• Experience with agile methodologies.
• Experience working in a distributed, international environment.
• Experience developing integration platforms is a plus.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of software architecture principles and design patterns.
• Experience in e-commerce.
• Modeling experience (UML, C4).
