Position Overview

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Modeling & Simulation Systems Engineer or Sr. Principal Modeling & Simulation Systems Engineer for the Rolling Meadows, IL location. This full‑time, on‑site role involves designing and testing custom algorithm solutions, developing and validating complex models and simulations, and implementing these solutions within systems or products.

Responsibilities

• Design and test custom algorithm solutions and develop/validate complex models and simulations.
• Apply a systems engineering approach to physics phenomenology and create in‑house algorithms and performance models.
• Collaborate with engineers, physicists, and experts to implement algorithms into systems or products.
• Develop formal documentation and support requirements development and implementation of complex algorithms as embedded software.
• Participate in agile teams executing technical work under cost and schedule constraints.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering, Physics, or STEM field with 5+ years of related experience (Principal); or BS with 8+ years (Sr. Principal). MS or Ph.D. with proportional experience may be substituted.
• Experience developing custom algorithms and/or performance models.
• Experience delivering technical presentations.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and/or C/C++.
• US citizenship required; able to obtain and maintain a minimum of a Secret clearance (and additional clearance as specified by the customer).
• Preferred: knowledge of EOIR/RF targeting systems, sensors/antennas, optics, image processing, tracking; Java and AFSIM; formal documentation; agile experience; active Secret or Top Secret clearance.

Security Clearance

Minimum: Secret clearance; additional clearance as required by the customer. U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

Relocation & Travel

Relocation assistance may be available. Travel: 10% of the time.

Salary & Benefits

Primary Level: $108,800.00–$163,200.00. Secondary Level: $135,800.00–$203,600.00.
