About The Job

The Red Hat North America Sales team seeks a Specialist Solutions Architect to join our North America OpenShift Strategic Workloads team. In this role, you will create possibilities, solve problems, and establish working relationships with customers. You will collaborate with the Sales account teams across North America to deliver the best solutions on Red Hat OpenShift, utilizing Red Hat, ecosystem, and community solutions developed using open-source frameworks and projects. This role requires deep technical expertise in Kubernetes, automation, computational systems, hybrid cloud, and edge solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about open-source, focusing on high-performance and resource-constrained deployments, and capable of creating business solutions across enterprise technology offerings. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you'll be a key part of the customer's first experience with Red Hat.

What You'll Do

  1. Support the North American sales team's OpenShift go-to-market (GTM) strategy.
  2. Build strategic relationships with executives and key business leaders to promote Red Hat's solutions for strategic workloads and deployments where performance, scalability, observability, and security are critical.
  3. Design foundational architectures for strategic workloads and deployments with sales teams.
  4. Analyze and develop solutions to guide customers from initial OpenShift adoption to advanced implementations supporting multi-cluster, hybrid cloud, and security features.
  5. Articulate the benefits of OpenShift for advanced architectures, including edge and hybrid cloud solutions.
  6. Deep dive into customer application architectures to identify suitable OpenShift-powered solutions for strategic workloads.
  7. Ensure Red Hat solutions are the first choice for customers by developing customer and partner relationships, closing revenue, and aligning sales forecasts.
  8. Support pre-sales and post-sales activities such as technical deep dives, demos, proofs of concept, workshops, enablement, product discussions, RFP/RFI responses, and portfolio reviews.
  9. Develop and revise system design, test procedures, and quality standards for Red Hat products.
  10. Define solution goals and create flowcharts and diagrams of operational steps.
  11. Assist in resolving software-related issues during pre-sales activities.
  12. Create GTM content for strategic use cases on OpenShift.
  13. Collaborate with product teams and engineering to gather feedback and improve solutions.
  14. Develop expertise in ecosystem vendor solutions on OpenShift.
  15. Participate in community activities such as speaking engagements, blogging, tutorials, and social media to promote Red Hat.
  16. Mentor and train field teams to enhance sales positioning and scalability.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer information systems, computer science, or related field, with 8+ years of experience; sales experience is a plus.
  • Certifications or experience in HPC, supercomputing, simulation, or data science.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), containers, and Kubernetes.
  • Extensive knowledge of enterprise container architectures, Red Hat OpenShift, Linux, and deploying container solutions in various cloud environments.
  • Experience with accelerated processors, latency-sensitive, disconnected/edge applications, hyperconverged infrastructure, and distributed workloads.
  • Knowledge of data science frameworks and development/operations tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across technical and executive levels.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%, with expenses reimbursed.

The salary range is $188,620 - $311,250, based on qualifications. Red Hat offers comprehensive benefits, including health coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, parental leave, and more.
