Job summary

Abraxas Youth and Family Services in Woodridge, IL seeks a Principal to lead the Meridian North program, coordinating with district administrators, teachers, students and care providers to sustain high-quality services for youth with disabilities.

You will provide curriculum and instructional leadership, manage facilities, budgets, staffing and district communications to ensure safe, compliant school operations.

Qualifications

• Special Education License LBS I is required.
• Advanced training and related experience in education of individuals with exceptional needs preferred.
• Knowledge of current legislation and regulations related to special education; familiarity with Common Core standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead with curriculum and instructional leadership to maintain high student achievement.
• Manage school operations including facility maintenance, budgets, and staffing within state and corporate guidelines.
• Coordinate communication between district staff, students and parents to evaluate situations and resolve issues.
• Assist staff in developing IEPs and education components of treatment plans for youth.
• Develop and monitor procedures for evaluating student progress aligned with IEPs.
• Plan and coordinate in-service programs to ensure staff have needed expertise to meet exceptional student needs.
