AMD's Data Center Platform Engineering Group seeks a Principal Member of Technical Staff to own system design support, rack-level bring-up, and critical customer engagement for the AMD Instinct line. • Advanced degree-credible in system architecture, hardware/firmware debugging, and customer-facing engineering.
• Proven experience with server/rack architectures in enterprise environments.
• Strong debugging and design-review capabilities across hardware, firmware, and software.

Responsibilities

• System Architecture & Design Support for rack-scale AI solutions.
• Solution Optimization with customers for Rack-Scale AI deployments.
• Design Reviews supporting customer platform/rack designs and improvement recommendations.
• Bring-Up, Debug & Validation across rack systems in lab and field.
• Documentation & Best Practices delivering architectures and deployment guides.
• Hands-on Engineering including complex stress tests and root cause analyses.
• Issue Resolution with diagnostics and escalations for customer success.
• System Firmware Debug & Deployment during bring-up and deployments.
• End-Customer Debug & Sustaining for deployed fleets.
• Leadership & Strategy providing clear updates to leadership.
• Cross-Functional Alignment across engineering teams.
• Roadmap Influence via field feedback shaping AMD software/hardware roadmaps.
• Future Architecture decisions from customer insights.
• Mentorship to grow technical leaders within the team.
