Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Principal Software Integration Engineer to join our team at Camp Smith, Hawaii, supporting MDC2 capabilities for the US Air Force. The role focuses on ensuring uptime, system health, and automated reporting while advancing JFN/JMIE integration within a multi-domain environment.

The ideal candidate has senior-level experience in automation, monitoring, virtualization, and DevSecOps tools, with U.S. Citizenship, TS/SCI clearance, and IAT Level II certification.

Qualifications

• Experience with automation tools and configuration management.
• Experience with system monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk).
• Experience with virtualization: VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Linux KVM.
• Experience with DevSecOps CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab Runners).
• Experience with Kubernetes distros (RKE2, EKS, K8s).
• Experience with cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform).
• Knowledge of application integration testing and automated testing frameworks.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with providers.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills for reporting to leadership.
• Familiarity with Agile and ITIL.
• U.S. Citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance and IAT Level II certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maximum availability, stability and health of required program resources.
• Develop and maintain automated reporting for system health and status.
• Provide software sustainment using configuration management controls.
• Improve engineering processes and monitoring tools across environments.
• Automate daily verification and validation of key capabilities.
• Support automation of CM visibility across environments.
• Apply systems engineering principles to drive program success.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability.
• Prepare detailed reports and present findings to leadership.
• Stay current with trends in automated testing, distributed databases, and DevSecOps.
