Job summary

Base-2 Solutions in Norfolk, VA seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead backend development for mission-critical data systems. You will build scalable services using Python and FastAPI, design PostgreSQL schemas, and enable high-performance data integrations across large data sets.

Requirements include TS/SCI with CI Poly, strong experience in API development and data engineering, and a track record of delivering complex software in high-speed environments.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• Backend development experience.
• Data engineering and API development experience.
• Experience with Python and FastAPI.
• Experience designing and managing PostgreSQL databases with indexing.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Proficiency in FastAPI.
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL.
• Experience building high-performance API connections for mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems including analytics and real-time data processing.
• Provide input to software component design including trade-offs and system-level requirements.
• Design, implement, and integrate software applications and tasks.
• Apply appropriate software engineering methodologies in development and production environments.
• Ensure efficient delivery of software capabilities using repeatable processes.
• Mitigate risks, control costs and schedule variance on large-scale projects.
• Review and test software components and document results.
