Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking an expert-level software engineer who writes clear, secure code across multiple languages and mentors peers. You will lead development initiatives, define technical roadmaps, and ensure adherence to enterprise standards within the SDLC.

You will influence engineers, architects, and senior leaders, drive architectural decisions, and champion resiliency, security, and performance across applications while collaborating with stakeholders and domains.

Qualifications

• Expert-level coding in multiple languages and mentoring for engineers.
• Proven ability to influence architects, engineers, and senior leaders.
• Experience delivering enterprise-scale software solutions across multiple domains.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, performance, security, and reliability practices.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for code change and review processes for quality and efficiency.
• Apply metrics to SDLC processes and drive improvements with teams.
• Author organized, clean, secure code in at least two languages and build shared libraries.
• Lead architectural discussions and ensure cross-domain alignment.
