Job summary

Elekta is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to provide technical leadership across shared software components and services used in its product portfolio. You will define direction, guide architecture, and ensure secure, scalable solutions that support customers worldwide.

Lead design and delivery of reusable services, APIs, and microservices with modern deployment practices, while mentoring engineers and advancing engineering standards across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Extensive software engineering experience with C#, .NET and distributed systems.
  • Experience designing reusable services, versioned APIs, microservices and event-driven architectures.
  • Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native deployments.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and development tools such as Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
  • Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.

  • Lead design, development, and maintenance of shared software components and services.
  • Define APIs, integration contracts and component boundaries for interoperability.
  • Guide architectural decisions balancing performance, security, and maintainability.

Job description

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for shared software components and services used across Elekta's product portfolio. Working closely with architects, engineering leaders and product teams, you'll define technical direction, guide architectural decisions and ensure solutions are secure, scalable and maintainable. You'll help drive engineering best practices, contribute to safety and cybersecurity initiatives, and support the development of high-quality software that meets the needs of customers worldwide.,

  • Lead the design, development and maintenance of shared software components and services using C#/.NET for cloud and on-premises deployments.
  • Define APIs, integration contracts and component boundaries, ensuring interoperability and backward compatibility across products.
  • Guide architectural and technical decisions, balancing performance, scalability, security, reliability and maintainability.
  • Drive software quality through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD practices and engineering standards.
  • Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis and resolution of complex product, integration and customer issues.
  • Contribute to safety, cybersecurity and risk management activities, including vulnerability remediation and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with architects, product teams and engineering leaders to manage technical priorities, dependencies and delivery plans.
  • Mentor engineers and help elevate technical expertise, engineering practices and software quality across the organisation.
  • Extensive software engineering experience with a strong background in C#, .NET / ASP.NET Core and distributed systems.
  • Experience designing reusable services, versioned APIs, microservices and event-driven architectures.
  • Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, cloud-native technologies and modern deployment practices.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing and development tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins or equivalent.
  • Experience leading technical initiatives, influencing architecture decisions and mentoring engineers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance technical quality, delivery priorities and risk.
Nice to Have
  • Experience working within healthcare, medical technology or other regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL, GitOps, infrastructure automation and scripting.
  • Experience contributing to secure software development, observability and cybersecurity practices.
