Job summary

HubSpot is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to shape the technical future of Revenue Hub. This hands-on role will involve writing code, reviewing designs, debugging systems, and owning the architecture behind CPQ, Billing, Payments, and Revenue OS.

You will define how external developers and AI agents interact with surfaces safely and predictably, while mentoring engineers and guiding multi-team initiatives across the platform.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and scaling distributed systems with strict correctness requirements.
• Strong instincts for API and platform design you’ve built for external teams.
• Background with complex state machines and financial data flows.
• Familiarity with agentic systems and safe AI interaction with structured data.
• Ability to align across many teams and drive concrete plans while hands-on.

Responsibilities

• Shape the technical roadmap across CPQ, Billing, and Payments with strong patterns.
• Define core domain models so pricing, products, contracts, invoices, and payments behave predictably.
• Design API and platform contracts for external developers and AI agents.
• Lead architectural direction and mentor engineers across the org.
