Job summary

Airlock Digital is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to shape our macOS and Linux endpoint technology. This senior IC role influences architecture, translates product needs into engineering plans, and directly implements features while reviewing code and fixing defects.

You will work across teams to ensure secure, reliable, and performant agent behavior, spanning installation, updates, and platform-specific experiences. Strong macOS/Linux judgment is essential.

Qualifications

• 8-12+ years of professional software engineering experience in production systems.
• Strong systems engineering across macOS and Linux with deep expertise in one platform.
• Proven track record in security-critical endpoint software.
• Knowledge of Unix-like OS concepts (processes, signals, filesystems, permissions).
• Experience integrating managed-language software with native OS APIs.
• Security-focused coding practices (TLS, certificates, authentication, secure IPC).
• Technical leadership with architecture/design influence across teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/SE or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate the technical direction for macOS and Linux Agents.
• Implement features, review code, and fix high-priority defects.
• Lead design, architecture, and code reviews across platforms.
• Own outcomes for enforcement, lifecycle, and secure communications.
• Diagnose production issues in privileged services and concurrency scenarios.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering bar via testing and observability.
