Job summary

Vosper Thornycroft Group (VTG) seeks a Principal Software Engineer to design, develop, maintain, and integrate complex software systems for analytics and real-time workloads. You will work on algorithms, data processing, and system integration, with a focus on performance and reliability.

The role requires TS/SCI with Poly and 20+ years of software engineering experience, plus a relevant degree. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with Poly required.
• 20 years of Software Engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university; Four additional years may substitute for the degree.
• Experience designing, developing, maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting complex software systems.
• Experience translating user and system requirements into software design and performance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements to derive software design and performance specs.
• Design, develop, code, and modify software systems and applications.
• Develop and enhance software with new features and capabilities.
• Debug software, identify root causes, and fix defects.
• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems and environments.
• Develop complex algorithms meeting performance and functional requirements.
• Design algorithms for timing and resource constraints.
• Develop queries and interfaces for databases and repositories.
• Evaluate system performance and data usage to improve solutions.
• Coordinate software installations and monitor performance.
• Lead software development activities and ensure adherence to processes.
• Participate in Agile/Sprint development.
