Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Melbourne, FL seeks a Software Engineer (or Principal Software Engineer) to design, build, and maintain infrastructure-focused software. You will deploy, automate, and optimize software systems across Linux and Windows, collaborating with PMs, suppliers, and government customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 2+ years of software engineering OR Master’s degree with 0+ years of experience (Level 2)
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 5+ years of experience OR Master’s with 3+ years (Level 3)
• Familiarity with Atlassian suite (Git, Confluence)
• Development experience in C/C++ or other OOP languages
• Experience in Linux and Windows environments
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with containerization technologies
• Ability to obtain/maintain US government clearance (SAP)
• Willingness to work off-peak hours for surge support

Responsibilities

• Full lifecycle design, implementation, and unit testing of software
• Integrate software with updated hardware
• Collaborate with team members to integrate functionality with other components
• Gather and report software metrics
• Follow program software best practices
• Develop software products through all phases of the lifecycle
