Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems, Global Surveillance division in Melbourne, FL, seeks a Principal Engineer Software to lead the software team. Position Summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS), Global Surveillance division seeks a Principal Engineer Software for the software team located in Melbourne, Florida.

Relocation assistance may be available.

Clearance Required for Start: Yes
Clearance Type: Secret
Travel: Yes, 10% of the time

Essential Functions

• Full lifecycle design, implementation, and unit testing of software.
• Work with various team members to integrate functionality with other software components.
• Lead a team and/or provide leadership to drive solutions of complex problems.
• Gather and report software metrics.
• Ensure software best practices.
• Develop software products from all phases of the software lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 9 years of experience in software engineering, OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of experience, OR 4 years of experience with a PhD.
• US citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance and any required program accesses (interim clearance required to start).
• Demonstrated delivery of products in C/C++ or other OOP languages in Windows and Linux environments.
• Ability to travel 50% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong IRAD or other experimentation contract experience.
• Experience with large Defense contractor programs and ability to work across program and IPT lines.
• Knowledge of supplier management and ability to drive results from sub-contractors.
• Experience with Integration and field installation in Software Integration Labs.
• Experience with Hardware in the Loop environments for simulation.

Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00.
