Job summary

Alaffia Health is seeking a Principal Engineer to drive transformative impact across our product engineering organization in NYC. You will solve complex technical challenges, define architectural standards, and shape the technical direction of the platform.

You will mentor senior engineers, lead AI-augmented development, and partner with product to align strategy with execution. This role emphasizes scalability, velocity, and healthcare regulatory awareness.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with breadth and depth.
• Proven track record delivering complex enterprise SaaS projects.
• Ability to define and execute technical vision at scale.
• Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript, Python, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AI coding assistants and accelerating team productivity.
• Deep understanding of full-stack web development, system design, and cloud infrastructure (AWS).
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong project management and mentoring skills; ability to influence without formal authority.
• Healthcare tech familiarity and regulatory knowledge (HIPAA, HITRUST) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable systems affecting large parts of the business.
• Own technical design and delivery of complex projects across teams.
• Set technical direction and coding standards for core libraries and tools.
• Lead AI-augmented development practices and tooling adoption.
• Mentor senior engineers and drive cross-team alignment on initiatives.
• Collaborate with business and product partners to align tech decisions with strategy.
