Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Software Engineer specializing in DO-178 software certification in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will coordinate certification activities, act as the primary interface with external customers and Certification Compliance Finders, and lead program plans to support certification objectives.

This role requires 5+ years in DO-178 certification, 3+ years with E-UMs/TCRs for SOI audits, and hands-on experience with Model-Based Development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years experience, or advanced degree with 5+ years.
• 3+ years with E-UMs/TCRs for SOI audits.
• 5+ years with DO-178 certification process.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary interface with external customers and Certification Compliance Finders for software certification activities.
• Coordinate certification activities, including project management for bidding, estimating, tracking and reporting on technical scope, cost and schedule.
• Provide technical coordination with customers, systems/hardware/software engineers and program managers.
• Mentor team members in certification, systems engineering and process compliance.
• Develop training materials and support knowledge transfer across teams.
• Assist with other software engineering activities when certification work is reduced.
