Job summary

PTC's Onshape team in Boston seeks a Principal Software Engineer to design and improve Onshape’s UI and modeling capabilities in a hybrid role. You will apply your expertise in TypeScript, Java, and C++ to scale complex CAD workflows, including simulation, design analysis, and data management, across cloud, web, and mobile platforms.

You’ll work with product, UX, and QA to deliver robust features for thousands of components, participate in code reviews, and help shape a world-class 3D CAD

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Expertise in TypeScript, Java, and C++.
• Experience with large codebases (1M+ lines) and data structures/algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and improve Onshape UI and back-end integrations.
• Tune performance for large datasets.
• Collaborate with developers on system design.
• Support new UI, workflow, and modeling features.
• Participate in code reviews and fix bugs.
• Coordinate with product, UX, and QA teams.
